Late nights nobody saw. Things I built and never showed anyone. Help I never asked for, and thanks I never said back.

Nobody told me to work like that. I just assumed good work would speak for itself, so I kept my head down and put in the work. Maybe, that was the right instinct for the first part. It just wasn’t the whole thing.

Somewhere along the way I figured out there are two parts. Doing the thing is the first one. Being seen doing it is the second. I don’t mean applause, and I don’t mean bragging. I mean enough people knowing the work exists that it can do something outside my own head.

I’ve spent years getting better at the first part. This is me starting on the second, because the version in my head isn’t helping anyone.

So that’s what these episodes are. Things I’ve learned, or am still learning, said out loud before they’re polished. Some are about work, some are about life, the things that happened to me and what I took from them.

If you’ve ever been the quiet one in the room, the one who did the thing and kept hoping someone would notice or simply didn’t care, some of this might sound familiar.

What I got wrong was the silence.

So this is me, breaking it.
